Licensed Practical Nurse

The role of the General Surgery Nurse involves patient assessment, education, coordination of care, and clinical support to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The nurse will collaborate closely with the provider to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.Job Requirements: LPN or RN current NH state licensure, BLS, ACLSPreferred Skills: Exceptional customer service, highly motivated, proficiency in electronic health record, knowledge of regulations and guidelines relevant to general surgery nursing, commitment to delivering high quality patient care, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, detail oriented, strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:Assist physician with patient flow in clinicSet up lab, procedure and examination rooms daily.Set up, assist and clean up procedures.Keep patient rooms stocked with suppliesClean and disinfect lab and exam rooms.Answer phones in a timely manner using appropriate telephone etiquette.Triage patients who may phone the clinicActs as patient advocate and resolves patient problems.Ensures the effective delivery of competent care to assigned patients.Assists with all procedures performed in the general surgery Department.Takes the nursing history, summarizes data, and states nursing diagnosis and patient care needs.Observes and records signs and symptoms.Performs other related duties as directed.Call in prescriptions and refills as neededCross coverage to the urology clinicEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
