Speech Language Pathologist

Provide speech and language services through individual or group instruction and/or consultation with parents and teachers to meet the goals and objectives outlined in the Individualized Education Plan for each student.Develop and coordinate speech, hearing and language screening for preschool students to identify suspected communication difficulties.Evaluate and provide assessment of articulation, fluency, voice, language disorders and communication deficits to determine the student's eligibility for speech/language services.Attend case conference committee meetings and annual case review meetings to provide individual student information on progress and recommend goals and objectives as appropriate.Implement speech, language and hearing services through group instruction and/or consultation to meet IEP goals and objectives for each student.Consult with teachers and other school personnel to recommend classroom instructional activities for speech, language and hearing methods to meet the IEP goals and objectives for each student.Cooperate and assist with hearing screening tests for all students as set out in Indiana statute.Cooperate with outside agencies and specialists to coordinate appropriate services for students with speech, language and hearing needs which require other therapeutic and/or treatment services.Maintain communication with stakeholders.Requisition and maintain materials, supplies and equipment for the speech/language program.Promote good public relations for the school corporation, cooperative and the community.The Madison Area Educational Special Services Unit views this as an expanding role.
