Experienced Field Engineer - Civil

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experiencedField Engineerin their Civil group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.The Field Engineer will support and complete the full cycle of field coordination issues with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Note:This position will travel anywhere throughout the United States 100% of the time to various project locations across the United States (with regular rotations home every 3 weeks for 5 days). This person can be based anywhere in the United States. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Pre-Construction support Manage the submittal and RFI processes for specific definable features of work (DFW), utilizing PMA and other Project Connect programs completely to closureEvaluate project design and engineering documents, managing their organization and distribution to necessary partiesConduct advanced research on living arrangements for project team membersPerform project-specific tasks in preparation for the team mobilizing to the site Prepare turnover binder templatesAssist with the preparation of Pre-Mobilization Kickoff meetings Compile, contact, and arrange for short-form subcontracts with local entities at the project sitePower, trailers, housing, local subcontractors, etc.Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase agreementsReview and utilize the Best Practice Database for SWIs, quality documents, prep meetings, etc.Manage all aspects necessary for Construction support Manage the quality assurance & quality control process as delineated in the Project Quality PlanManage the inventory process as materials arrive to the site: inspection, offload, receiving, and storageCoordinate DFW prep meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, punch list final inspectionsAssist Project Manager and Project Superintendents as needed regarding material and equipment management (pickup trucks, rented/owned equipment, coordinate the equipment facility)Manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination drawings, shop and as-built drawingsCoordinate the creation of lift and formwork drawingsManage production logs for work put in place (self-performed or subcontracted)Track Event Management incidents regarding Safety or Quality in DFW responsibilitiesAdminister Closeout processes Compile turnover documentation for specific DFW and transfer to customer per the project-specific quality and TSO planAssist Project Engineer and Project Manager with getting contract documents closed out with subcontractors and suppliersSupport the final inspections and punch list process with the customer for specific DFW responsibilitiesProvide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architectOther duties as assigned, including: Participate in project safety audits and Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety ProgramDetermine alternative work methods as neededMaintain schedule of timelines and follow through until completionQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or another science or mathematics-related degree, or an equivalent combination of education and substantial technical/field experience over multiple years Previous related internship experience a plus Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills Current driver’s license A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage Dental plan 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resources Tuition reimbursement Adoption Assistance Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $78,800 - $98,500.(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. #LI-SC1 Please make note: Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
