Job Description The Systems Administrator supports the US Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information (DOE OSTI) vision to ensure long-term preservation of and access to DOE scientific and technical information through support of mission system administration. This is an onsite position, in Oak Ridge, TN with no remote option. Salary is $98,000 per yearEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Install, configure, maintain, and monitor Windows server based computerComplete vulnerability remediation and softwareComplete system baseline hardening using DISAManage privileged accounts and group memberships in both on-prem and cloudDeploy and configure mission supporting applications and infrastructure.Develop the automation of routine and repeatableDocument systems' policies andCoordinate and communicate activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information with clients, other IT personnel, and other team members.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Education, Training, ExperienceMinimum of 3 years' system administration experience.Experience with Windows operatingKnowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (Directory Services, Group Policy, Domain Trusts, Certificate Services, Right Management Services).Experience administrating Microsoft M365Familiarity using VMware, Promox, RedHat Virtualization, or similar virtualizationFamiliarity with Omnissa Horizon or similar remote connectivity solutions.Strong troubleshooting and solution researchExperience with scripting languages such as PowerShell orExperience with taskExperience with centralized patch managementWorking knowledge common networkFamiliarity with configuration management practices for operating systems and majorFamiliarity with system documentation standards andDemonstrated excellent customerDemonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writtenStrong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and a focus onSelf-directed, results-oriented, andAbility to build strong working relationships across all levels of anAbility to work as part of a diverse teamAbility to translate technical information to an audience-appropriate levelPreferred:Prefer candidates to have or be working toward a degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university or with equivalent background.Ability to provide proof of US Citizenship on your first day of employment to obtain a DOE HSPD-12 Badge in accordance with the terms of the contract.
