This is a leadership-level role suited for a seasoned landscape architecture professional who can manage complex projects from concept through completion while maintaining high standards in design, client service, and delivery.The ideal candidate brings strong project management capability, sustainable design expertise, and the ability to mentor junior landscape architects within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & ManagementLead and mentor landscape architecture teams across all phases of project delivery.Oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, and overall performance.Manage projects from concept through construction completion.Continuously refine workflows, tools, and project delivery processes.Design & CollaborationCollaborate with internal engineering teams, consultants, and clients to develop high-quality design solutions.Ensure compliance with industry standards, sustainability objectives, and local regulations.Apply sustainable design principles across diverse project types.Client & Business DevelopmentBuild and sustain strong client relationships through proactive communication.Support BD activities including proposals, presentations, interviews, and fee negotiations.Represent the firm in client-facing and networking engagements.Mentoring & DevelopmentSupport and guide the professional growth of junior landscape architects.Drive team performance, communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.Required QualificationsRequiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.Professional licensure or registration (RLA/PLA).8-10+ years' experience in landscape architecture design and project management.Proven capability managing project budgets, schedules, and cost estimates.Experience across project types such as parks, commercial developments, and master-planned communities.Strong site planning experience and familiarity with entitlement processes.Strong communication and presentation skills.PreferredExperience with local permitting and approval processes within North Carolina.Background collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.Project TypesParks and recreationMaster-planned communitiesCommercial and mixed-use developmentCivic and public-realm projectsUrban streetscapes and green infrastructureSchedule & LocationFull-timeHybrid, based in Durham, NC
