Project Engineer

DescriptionResponsibilities:Act as the "information hub" for the project to ensure continuity of workAssist Preconstruction team with setting up bid documentsDevelop office, field, and subcontractor relationshipsParticipate in Weekly Sub MeetingsCompile, copy and distribute notes in all meetings and share in a timely manner (including Owner, Architect and Contractor meeting)Create Matrix of Value for assigned project, follow and run VIP process (track values, define Key Performance Indicators, create and distribute surveys)Learn scheduling, LPS documents and the 6-week look ahead including updates for the Owners, Architect, Contractors and Sub meetingsCollect, monitor and update Weekly Work Plan, PPC, and constraints including completing the monthly assessment of Last Planner SystemAssist with implementing Lean tools - 5S, LPS and VIPUpdate and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications, and logsPerform regular field visits for safety and view progress of the project as well as assess riskTake and maintain jobsite photosPrepare submittal register from the spec and create a submittal log which is in alignment with the scheduleAssist with processing Submittals and RFIsProcess and distribute Architect's Supplemental InstructionsAssist with the administration of the close-out process, which could include punch list, warranty collection and samples, as-built drawings and commissioningRequirementsRequirements:BS/MS in Civil, CM or Architecture or other degreeConstruction-related experience (can include internships and school)Some knowledge of construction techniques and working with subcontractorsAbility to read and understand plan and specificationsEffective written and verbal English language communication skillsStrong independent judgement; self-startingBasic estimating and scheduling skills desirableDemonstrates interest in learning, positive attitude, performer and adaptableWillingness to work proficiently, always focusing on the quality of work being performed.
