Industrial Machinery ManufacturingAnimal Food ManufacturingSeafood Product Preparation and PackagingDairy Product ManufacturingGrain and Oilseed MillingJob Title: Machine Operator (Thursday- Saturday, alternating Wednesdays, 5:00 PM- 5:00 AM)Department: Supply ChainReports to: SupervisorEssential Duties & Responsibilities Include Operate, perform maintenance, and adjust automated and semi-automated food packaging equipment including: o perating, cleaning, adjusting and maintaining processing/packaging machinery as needed to meet safety requirements, product standards and production goals. Assisting with the development of effective preventative maintenance tasks and routines. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and make adjustments as needed. Good understanding of mechanical and electric controls, and hoe they interact in a multistep process while detecting faulty operations, defective material and escalate these and other unusual equipment performance issues accordingly. Ability and importance of following all safety and GMP guidelines is required. Strong communication skills, that works closely with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance and Engineering to meet product specifications, as defined, and production goals. Requirements Include High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. Experience of at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment with a strong mechanical and/or industrial skills. An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus. The ability to read, write, mathematically compute, and operate a computer using basic functions is required. Must be familiar with HMI touch screen controls. Requires the ability to maintain motivation and to work independently. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations: frequent lifting , carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and some fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or more sitting, 50% or more walking, and 50% or more standing. The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a food manufacturing warehouse environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 40 lbs. is required.
