JOB SUMMARYAs the Certified Nursing Assistant, this position is responsible for providing outstanding patient care and physical and emotional support for patients on a daily basis.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Weston County Health Services (WCHS).• Answers resident calls promptly and determines the best course of action to support them.• Provides physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.• Turning and repositioning bedridden residents as required.• Ensuring residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.• Obtaining a wide range of information regarding resident condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities as needed.• Measures and records food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.• Records vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested.• Examines residents to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.• Reminds residents to take medication and nutritional supplements as required.• Notes observations of resident behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms to nurses.• Coordinates with medical staff and other departments to ensure efficiency.• Attends and participates in staff meetings and other assigned meetings.• Adheres to accreditation and compliance standard guidelines.• Assists in completing required reports, program reviews and preparation.• Utilizes good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with clients, providers, co-workers and other sections in the organization and with other facilities in the community.• Maintains a professional, organized and clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards.• Completes Work Assignments in a timely manner.• Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.• Always introduces self to patients, residents, families, and visitors when appropriate.• Reports safety hazards as appropriate.• Replenishes supplies as needed.• Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and Isolation Precautions.• Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.• Has the ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.• Observes safety-precautions.• Has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.• Has the ability to read and understand equipment operation manual.• Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations, and interdepartmental objectives.• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, trainings, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops;
