Maintenance Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance and performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This role includes installing new equipment, maintaining accurate documentation of maintenance activities, and managing inventory of supplies. Additionally, the technician ensures compliance with safety regulations and may assist with sanitation duties as needed. The position reports to the Facilities Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and building systems.
Identify and resolve issues before they cause equipment failure or downtime.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders via an online maintenance management program.
Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
Install new machinery and equipment as needed, and assist in the setup and calibration to ensure proper operation.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
Update maintenance logs and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Monitor and manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts, and order necessary parts and materials.
Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and outside vendors regarding maintenance issues, solutions, and scheduling repairs.
Assist in or complete sanitation duties to maintain cleanliness and ensure food safety and quality guidelines are followed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
1-2 years sanitation/maintenance experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to maintain and repair a variety of warehouse equipment such as dock levelers and dock doors.
Valid driver’s license and personal transportation with proof of insurance.
Ability to think logically and problem-solve to analyze situations, troubleshoot, and make sound decisions.
Must be able to shift priorities easily and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Must be capable of meeting OSHA and company requirements for equipment training and certification.
Proficiency in utilizing an online platform for maintenance logs, requests, and work orders.
