Lead Structural Engineer (Tysons Corner)

LVI is partnered with a leading, nationally recognized engineering and systems integration firm headquartered in the Mid-Atlantic looking for a lead structural to spearhead the structural division. Its portfolio includes advanced data centers, transportation systems, healthcare facilities, and highly secure federal projects requiring cutting-edge engineering, systems integration, and construction expertise.Known for tackling high-stakes, technically challenging projects, the company combines engineering, construction, and technology to deliver resilient, future-focused infrastructure at scale.Key Responsibilities:Design and Analysis:Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces and stamp our own drawingsAnalyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.Work with design engineers to produce standard designsProject Management:Be the single point of contact for all design engineers sending work out to multiple structural consultants.Manage the work load to structural consultants with quickest turnaround in mindParticipate in meetings with structural consultants to ensure that they have all necessary inputs and produce a high-quality stamped drawingManage project timelines and budgets relative to structural analysisSupport questions coming from construction site related to structural analysisCompliance and Standards:Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.Problem Solving:Identify and resolve design and construction issues.Provide technical advice and support during construction phases.Documentation and Reporting:Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation.Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.Coaching new engineers in making cost effective and easy to manufacture designAbilities:Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an EAC/ABET accredited programHold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of residence, with structural designationMinimum of 6 years of experience in structural building designStrong experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood designProficiency in RAM Structural System or Tekla Structural Designer, Revit, and BIM 360Advanced knowledge of structural codes and design standardsProven leadership and project management experienceStrong communication and client-facing skillsExperience managing project financials and team coordinationCommitment to mentoring, innovation, and continuous improvementStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
