Diesel / Heavy Equipment Technician

Diesel / Heavy Equipment TechnicianLocation: Mobile / Field-BasedPay: $30–$42 per hour (based on experience)Schedule: Monday–Friday with alternating start timesWork ScheduleMonday through FridayAlternating start schedule:Early shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PMLate shift: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PMWhat You Will DoLead advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, including CAN bus and ECMs, as well as medium- and light-duty equipment.Perform engine overhauls, rebuilds, and complex repairs with precision and efficiency.Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals to accurately troubleshoot issues.Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing detailed diagnostics and service recommendations.Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel and gas engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving engines, transmissions, brakes, and related components.Use power tools and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble diesel and gas engines.Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.Adhere to all safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills & AbilitiesStrong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on diesel and gas engines.Ability to suspend and support heavy equipment using appropriate lifting devices.Proficiency with power tools and specialized diagnostic and repair equipment.Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process.Advanced automotive and equipment diagnostic skills.Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance.CDL Class A or B preferred.Qualifications / What You Will BringHigh school diploma or GED.Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience required; 5–10 years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, and hydraulic systems preferred.Expert-level knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.Ability to supply a complete set of professional-grade tools.Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle (mobile role).Ability to pass a background check.Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.Why CTSS?Join a team that values expertise, innovation, and collaboration.Competitive pay based on experience.Stable weekday schedule with no weekends.Opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment in a dynamic, mobile role.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits: Health insurancePaid time off Experience: Diesel engine repair: 3 years (Required)Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Required) Language: English (Required) Ability to Commute: West Valley City, Utah 84119 (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in West Valley City, Utah 8411
