International Payroll Manager 12 Month Contract Fully Remote Anywhere Up to $140,000 We are supporting a fast-scaling, globally distributed technology organisation in hiring an experienced International Payroll Manager for a maternity cover contract.This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in partnership with an external payroll provider.Key Responsibilities• Manage end-to-end payroll operations across 13 global entities• Partner with external provider (ActivPayroll) to process and review payroll• Ensure payroll accuracy across salary, benefits, and variable payments• Handle employee payroll queries and maintain high service standards• Collaborate with PeopleOps, Finance, and external stakeholders• Support audits (including SOC) and maintain strong payroll controls• Oversee payroll payments and contractor invoice processing.• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and AI-driven efficiencies• Support payroll-related projects and new entity implementationsCountries CoveredAustria, Canada, Germany, Ireland + 9 furtherRequirements• Proven experience managing international payroll (multi-country)• Strong experience working with ActivPayroll (essential)• Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and priorities• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skillsNice to Have• Workday experience• Payroll process documentation and controls experience• Exposure to benefits processing• Interest in automation and AI toolsThe position can be based anywhere globally, with a slight preference towards US, Europe.
