Our client is seeking an experienced Nuclear Regulatory Engineer to join their team in downtown Minneapolis, MN. This role is ideal for Mechanical Engineers with backgrounds in utilities, power generation, or nuclear operations who are interested in moving into a highly visible regulatory and compliance-focused position. The engineer will support plant compliance with NRC regulations, UFSAR, and technical specifications while partnering closely with site and fleet leadership.
Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact with the NRC, including leading technical and management meetings
Prepare and support licensing actions (NOEDs, tech spec changes, amendments, exemptions, code relief)
Lead inspection preparation and regulatory strategy in coordination with site and fleet leadership
Draft regulatory correspondence, reports, and responses to NRC inquiries
Monitor plant operations for compliance and reportability impacts
Support ongoing site operations and regulatory excellence initiatives
Qualifications 8+ years of engineering experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred SRO License or equivalent operational experience
Prior nuclear licensing or regulatory compliance experience
