The 2nd shift Precision Machining Supervisor will drive a culture of quality while developing exceptional machinists, quality specialists, and technicians. As a technical leader, the Precision Machining Supervisor will meet customer rate demands, proactively identify and resolve production schedule issues, continuously develop and improve production processes, and inspire the team to achieve consistent machining excellence.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of technicians, quality specialists, and machinistsProvide technical guidance and unblock challenging machining issuesMeet demand requirements to our customers, forecast potential capacity deficiencies, and remove quality/production blockers as they appearManage and optimize machine/labor configuration to meet customer demandRegularly drive improvements with operations to improve manufacturability, cycle times, cost, and qualityManage schedules, timecards, and direct report performanceEnsure all processes have accessible and correct documentationSet priorities for the team based on strengths and maximizing output; delegate and manage team bandwidth to achieve successful tasks and projectsCoordinate with leadership to ensure the machine shop’s focus correctly prioritizes projects that are the most impactful to Starlink successThink creatively, question the status quo while following documentation and maintaining prescribed quality standardsBasic Qualifications5+ years of CNC machining experience1+ year of leadership experience in a machine shop settingExperience with high-level troubleshooting for machined componentsPreferred Skills And Experience5+ years leadership experience in a machine shop settingDemonstrated experience troubleshooting single digit micron partsAdvanced macro programming experienceExperience with Heidenhain controlsAbility to travel to vendors and assist with solving high-level machining problemsProgramming experience with NX or other similar CAM softwarePrecision inspection experience including CMM using PC-DMIS software and hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and interferometersExperience with interdisciplinary project managementAdditional RequirementsEstimated shift time for 2nd shift: 4:00PM to 2:30AM Travel to vendor sites may be requiredTravel to launch and test sites may be requiredPay RangeCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Supervisor: $110,000 - $140,000/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
