Job Summary:
The BIM/VDC Coordinator - will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes primarily for mechanical and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with BIM/VDC technologies in the context of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination, strong problem-solving abilities, and the skill to collaborate effectively with various project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement BIM execution plans and standards tailored to mechanical and plumbing systems.
· Coordinate the integration of mechanical and plumbing BIM models with architectural and structural models to ensure accuracy and coordination.
· Oversee the application of VDC strategies to optimize the design, planning, and construction of mechanical and plumbing systems.
· Collaborate closely with mechanical and plumbing engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and coordination issues.
· Manage and support BIM software and tools related to mechanical and plumbing design (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks).
· Conduct clash detection and resolution for mechanical and plumbing systems to prevent construction conflicts.
· Facilitate collaborative coordination meetings with other project stakeholders.
· Ensure adherence to industry standards, company guidelines, and best practices for mechanical and plumbing BIM/VDC coordination.
· Monitor and maintain data integrity and version control for mechanical and plumbing models.
· Occasional on-site field visits may be required.
Qualifications:
· (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
· (Preferred) Minimum of [3] years of experience in BIM/VDC coordination with a focus on mechanical and plumbing systems.
· (Required) Proficiency in BIM software specific to mechanical and plumbing systems (e.g., Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks).
· (Required) Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems design, installation processes, and project lifecycle.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate effectively with various disciplines.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in a collaborative team environment.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are advantageous.
