The CNC Machinist is responsible for set-up and machining of production, prototype and R&D parts and fixtures. This position works cross functionally to ensure on-time and quality delivery. As the machinist, this position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the equipment.Schedule: Monday Thursday 6:00 AM 4:30 PM (4x10s). 40 hours per week required, with opportunity for overtime based on business need.What You Will Do:Machine precision parts for production and R&D utilizing variety of machine toolsMeasure and document cost of producing parts relative to time and materialsInspect own work and others using precision tools, comparators, etc.Maintain equipment and perform set up of machines; operate CNC machining & cutting equipmentAssist in the design of tooling and fixtures and collaborate with programming team.Perform work in accordance with Quality Assurance Program policies and adhere to company safety policies.Participate in AJAC apprenticeship, if equivalent education and/or experience qualifications are not already metWork across multiple shifts when requiredOther duties as assignedWhat You Need to Succeed:Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology, 2-year degree in Machine Technology or equivalent training preferred.7+ years' total experience in manufacturing environment with at least 5+ years CNC machinist experience, preferably with 3 and 5 axis machines, including ability to program, setup and operate machine tools; CNC milling machine, CNC cutting, as well as conventional machinesKnowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, G-codeExperience developing tools and fixturesAbility to work unsupervisedKnowledge of machining high tolerance partsAbility to read and interpret drawingsEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong math skills, analytical, and customer service skills.Experience manufacturing to ISO 9000 standards preferredWorking Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an environment where heavy work is required and where moderate to loud noise occurs. The employee is in an assembly plant/warehouse environment that can be dusty. May be working around welding operations. Overhead work may be required. There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally lift and move very heavy objects and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. Personal protective equipment will be required and provided. In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress. They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, read and comprehend the material they read. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experiences.The expected Base Hourly Range: $26.44 - $33.85.
