Project Executive - Commercial

Project ExecutivePosition OverviewThe Project Executive will lead delivery of complex commercial construction projects from pursuit through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role combines strategic leadership, commercial oversight, and practical construction knowledge including experience with general contracting to manage client relationships, drive profitability, mitigate risk, and grow the business portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive leadership and direction for multiple construction projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.Own commercial performance for assigned projects: develop and manage budgets, forecasts, cost control measures, and margin preservation strategies.Lead contract negotiation and management with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors; administer change orders and resolve commercial disputes.Oversee project planning and schedule management, coordinating inter-disciplinary teams to meet milestones and critical path activities.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, safety, quality, and compliance.Serve as primary client and stakeholder liaison, maintaining strong relationships, managing expectations, and driving high levels of client satisfaction.Ensure compliance with safety programs, quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements across all projects.Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management for project managers and site teams; allocate resources and develop talent.Support business development activities: prepare proposals, lead pursuits, provide commercial input for bids, and help secure new work.Deliver regular executive-level reporting on project performance, including financials, schedule status, risk registers, and corrective action plans.QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction with proven experience managing large, complex projects; experience as a General Contractor or working closely with GCs strongly preferred.Demonstrated commercial acumen including budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and contract administration.Proven track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards.Strong negotiation skills and experience managing contracts, claims, and change orders.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project) and financial reporting tools.Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or equivalent are a plus.Willingness to travel to project sites as required.BenefitsCompetitive bonus program based on performanceCompany cell phone/laptopCompany card401 (k) with matchDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance and more
