Veterans Program Support Specialist
VETERANS DEPARTMENT PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALISTRock Valley Community Programs provides transitional and supportive housing, addiction and mental health treatment services to adults in the Rock County area. We provide these services to homeless male veterans; clients connected to the criminal justice system and outpatient care to anyone needing assistance with addiction and/or mental health treatment.Position:The Program Support Specialist will ensure program compliance based on policy and procedure plus contract guidelines for a Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF).Shift: Sunday - Thursday 1pm-9pmPay: Starting $18.50 + $2.00 premium for weekend hours worked.Key Responsibilities:Ensure facility security and safety by monitoring alarms, cameras, doors, visitor logs, searches, and emergency/crisis procedures.Conduct regular resident accountability checks, including headcounts, sign-in/out logs, chores, and enforcing rules/sanctions.Perform urinalysis/breathalyzer testing and report incidents or overdue reports as needed.Manage and monitor resident medications upon intake.Handle communication tasks such as answering phones, responding to crisis calls, checking emails/shift logs, and maintaining teamwork.Secure and report resident financial transactions.Complete resident intakes, inventories, and transportation using agency vehicles when needed.Maintain accurate documentation and reports, including incident reports, police contact reports, and resident information boards.Assist with clerical and office duties such as filing, copying, stocking supplies, and forwarding mail.Support dietary/kitchen monitoring and assist residents with meals/food prep when needed.Participate in attendance expectations, including punctuality, shift completion, and occasional mandated overtime.Provide general support to residential staff and residents, including outings, cleaning supplies, and abandoned property handling.Qualifications:Strong judgment, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to remain calm in high-pressure situationsWorking knowledge of computers, or willingness to learnPrior experience in corrections, human services, or security is a plusMust be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of timeOccasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.Valid driver’s license and clean driving recordMust complete TB test, and drug screening (on-site).Completion of CPR, First Aid, CBRF Fire Safety, and Choking training within 90 daysEmployment is contingent upon passing a state and federal background check.Benefits: Health/Dental/Vision Insurance 1st of the month after date of hireCompany Paid:Short and Long-Term DisabilityLife InsurancePaid Time Off: Vacation, PTO and Sick TimeRetirement Savings ProgramsOpportunities for growth and advancementPaid training and certificationsRock Valley Community Programs, Inc is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
