The teacher creates a safe, hands-on learning environment and connects classroom instruction to real-world automotive skills.Key Responsibilities:Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.Teach automotive courses aligned with Mississippi CTE standardsProvide hands-on instruction in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairMaintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environmentDevelop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materialsMonitor student progress and maintain accurate recordsPrepare students for industry certifications (e.g., ASE)Manage tools, equipment, and inventorySupervise students during shop activities and ensure safety procedures are followedCommunicate with parents, staff, and administrationParticipate in professional development and school activitiesQualifications:Valid Mississippi Educator License with appropriate CTE endorsement (or ability to obtain)Work experience in automotive repair/technology preferredKnowledge of current automotive systems and toolsStrong classroom management and communication skillsWorking Conditions:Classroom and automotive shop settingRequires standing, lifting, and working with tools and equipmentReports To:
