Leads initiatives that streamline workflows, integrate systems, and optimize data processes using workflow and process automation tools, and cloud integration services. Combines technical leadership with hands-on development to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable automation and system integration capabilities aligned with institutional modernization goals.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Leads the design and implementation of enterprise automation solutions across workflows, integrations, and data platforms Develops and deploys automation using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Decisions, Blue Prism, or similar platforms Designs and implements system integrations and data pipelines through APIs or middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar iPaaS, etc.) Collaborates with data teams to connect automation workflows to analytics environments (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Oracle, SQL Server, On-prem resources, etc.) Provides technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship for automation engineers Analyzes business requirements and translate them into secure, scalable automation solutions Maintains platform performance, security, and compliance standards Troubleshoots complex automation and integration issues and coordinate resolutions Documents architecture, workflows, and standard operating procedures Evaluates emerging technologies in automation, AI, and integration for adoption strategies Participates in project planning, resource estimation, and technical deliveryRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.Required ExperienceSeven (7) years of relevant IT experience.Preferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsProficiency with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform toolsPreferred Educational QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related IT fieldAn advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related fieldPreferred ExperienceExperience in higher education IT environmentsAbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAble to design and implement system integrations and data pipelines using APIs or middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar iPaaS)Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize tasks, or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlinesKNOWLEDGEAdvanced understanding of enterprise automation, workflow orchestration, and system integration concepts, including low-code/no-code development and RPA principlesHands-on experience with automation tools (Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Decisions, Blue Prism)Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, PowerShell, SQL, Java) for connectors and custom automationFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts applied to intelligent automation and process optimizationStrong understanding of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and cloud data services (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric)SkillsExcellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, time management, project management, and presentation skillsExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills for technical and non-technical stakeholdersProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)Skilled in architecting and maintaining complex automation solutions across workflow, RPA, and integration layersStrong attention to detail, documentation practices, and commitment to continuous learningStrong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquetteUSG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
