Broadcast Operations Technician

WBAL TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore, MD has an opening for an experienced broadcastOperations Technician. The Operations Technician maintains the technical integrity of the station's on-air signals and its equipment from acquisition to distribution. You will support all station efforts in-house and on remote location. You will report to Assistant Chief Engineer. The salary range for this position is $46,694.96 – $54,871.48 depending on experience as outlined in the IBEW Collective Bargaining Agreement.ResponsibilitiesOperate robotic cameras and studio floor directingMove and handle of props and sets during in-house and on-location productions (this could mean helping move heavy equipment)Maintain appearance of studios including cleaning of set and floorsMaintain and understand lighting grid and control board with knowledge to maintain proper programming; climbing ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixturesDress microphone's and IFB's for all on camera appearancesBasic multi-media computer skill and familiarity with current Internet technology including downloading of materials for promos and commercial client spotsHelp with promotional effort at station-sponsored community events as assignedWork in control room in technical positions (including camera control, audio and TD)Non-linear editing for TV News-Creative Services ProductionsOther responsibilities as assigned by the TV Operations ManagerRequirements2+ years of experience working as an operations technician at a commercial television station with experience operating different broadcast equipmentMust have a solid background in operation of broadcast television systems and equipmentThis is an IBEW Union position and requires union membership.Related military experience will be consideredIn-person attendance is requiredValues in ActionAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
