We offer a diverse range of equipment from leading manufacturers, serving the needs of everyone from large commercial construction firms to local subcontractors and general contractors.Service Technician manages all in-shop, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for the maintenance, repair and communication of the equipment that resides on the branch property.Essential FunctionsTroubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working conditionPerforms routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspectionsInspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assignedParticipate in all training programs directed by ManagerBring to the attention of the Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to useMaintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulationsCompletes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via emailCommunicates with coworkers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceededTie workflow to scheduleManage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasksDiagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutionsProduce timely and detailed service reportsOperate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systemsFollow all company's filed procedures and protocolsCooperate with technical team and share information across the organizationComprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefingsMust be able and willing to help train and assist other technicians in need of assistanceReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Required Education and ExperienceExtensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipmentAbility to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipmentMust have own toolsMust have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedulesMilitary service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicableSupervisory Responsibilities* NoneWork EnvironmentWork is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routesRegular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment in operationFrequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and windPhysically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levelsDuties may involve both shop-based tasks and fieldwork, including travel to remote job sitesStrict adherence to safety protocols is required at all timesPersonal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as neededMust be comfortable operating around large equipment, performing tasks in confined spaces, or working from elevated positionsLifting heavy components and materials is often requiredFlexibility and adaptability are essential, as job site conditions and priorities can change rapidlyTravel Required* Required to travel to various locations for training classes/seminars* Drive to various vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairsPhysical DemandsRequires a high level of physical stamina and mobility to perform duties in jobsite and yard environmentsFrequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more, often without assistanceRegular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to secure loads, inspect vehicles, or perform minor maintenance tasksProlonged periods of standing, walking, and working on foot on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavementClimbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or occasionally onto equipment is requiredMust be able to work from various heights and maintain balance while performing tasks on steps, ladders, or platformsFine motor skills and good manual dexterity needed for handling controls, securing tie-downs, and completing documentationMust be able to safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in potentially hazardous driving and yard conditionsOccasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components may be requiredOur Benefits & PerksWe want our team members to feel supported, valued, and set up for long-term success.
