IlonaR Style encourages continuous learning, creativity, and professionalism in every aspect of the client experience.Role Description This on-site Junior Hairstylist internship role is based at IlonaR Style in Los Angeles, CA. The intern will support senior stylists with client preparation, shampooing, blow-drying, and basic styling under supervision. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized work area, sanitizing tools, restocking products, and assisting with salon setup and closing procedures. The Junior Hairstylist will observe and gradually perform services such as sectioning, basic cuts, and simple color applications as skills develop. The role also involves learning about client consultation, product recommendations, and professional customer service in a salon setting.Qualifications Foundational hairstyling skills, including shampooing, blow-drying, basic styling, and a strong interest in learning cutting and coloring techniques.Understanding of salon hygiene, sanitation standards, and safe use of tools and products, with a commitment to maintaining a clean workspace.Strong customer service skills, including active listening, clear communication, and a respectful, welcoming approach to all clients.Ability to follow directions, accept feedback, and work collaboratively with senior stylists and other team members.High level of reliability, punctuality, and professional appearance appropriate for a client-facing salon environment.Enrollment in or completion of a cosmetology program, or equivalent training, preferred; valid California cosmetology or trainee permit as required by local regulations.Willingness to work on-site, including evenings or weekends as needed, and to participate in ongoing training and education.
