Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Scope of Service: The Nurses primary function is to provide assessments, consultation, education and coordination of medical care to all clients at the REST Center. The nurses role is also to employ strategies to promote education and in service training to staff on any and all medical issues pertaining to client needs. We also ask that the nurse be available strictly for consultation and in service training to other programs as needed within the Residential Services Divisions. Qualifications: Registered Nurse with professional CT license, preferred experience to include mental health and PTSD. LPN's not considered for this role. Prior experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse experience is required. Current certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain certification within 3 months of hiring. Valid Connecticut Driver’s license with clean driving record is required. Knowledge of the community support system and resources is preferred. A healthy role model with the ability to communicate healthy lifestyle practices and behavior modifications to clients is required. Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of the basic principles of psychiatric rehabilitation is preferred.
