Tacker Sewing Machine Operator Job Description
A Tacker Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating tacker or stapling machines to fasten materials together according to production specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate tacker, stapling, or fastening machines safely and efficiently
Attach fabric, foam, padding, leather, or other materials to frames or products
Read work orders, blueprints, or production instructions
Inspect materials and finished products for quality and accuracy
Maintain production quotas and deadlines
Load and position materials onto machines or workstations
Perform routine machine cleaning and minor maintenance
Follow safety procedures and company policies
Report equipment malfunctions or production issues to supervisors
Assist with assembly, packaging, or other production tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications
Previous manufacturing or upholstery experience is a plus
Ability to use hand tools and pneumatic stapling/tacking equipment
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as needed
Attention to detail and quality control
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic math and measuring skills
