Chickie's & Pete's Restaurant ManagerJob TasksSmile and always maintain a positive attitudeFollow all Chickie's & Pete's service standardsResolve customer complaints about food quality or service taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied Guests into return GuestsDirect cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standardsMonitor actions of staff and Guests to ensure that health and safety standards and liquor regulations are followedCheck quality of deliveries including fresh and frozen food, seafood, and baked goodsArrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other servicesRecruit, hire, train and when necessary, terminate employees; ensure all paperwork is in orderDevelop employees by providing ongoing feedback and establishing performance expectationsProvide management staff with performance reviewsMaintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needsPrepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts; relief staff when needed to maintain proper labor numbersAdhere to company standards and service levels to increases sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costsResponsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and proceduresEnforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areasEnsure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinancesResponsible for ensuring consistent high quality food preparation and serviceMaintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standardsMeet store budget by minimizing expense items and managing overall P&L of storeWork with corporate office staff for efficient provisioning and purchasing of suppliesSupervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize wasteEnsure proper security procedures are in place to protect staff, Guests, and company assetsEnsure a safe working and dining environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidentsComplete accident reports promptly in the event a Guest or employee is injuredExecute store promotional eventsFacilitate communication to ensure management and staff is aware of specials and promotionsDelegate effectively to management staffCater to high profile, VIP GuestsAdditional tasks as assignedMain Responsibilities, Required Skills and KnowledgeGuest ServiceMust consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet Guests' needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests' overall dining experience.CommunicationMust clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers, and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums, and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training.Interpersonal RelationshipsMust adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus.TeamworkWorking together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment.Sales Techniques and Guest InfluenceMust understand all Chickie's & Pete's products and services as well as can understand Guest's needs clearly. Must gain experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods. Must meet sales goals.Performing General Physical ActivitiesMust perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.Problem Solving and Conflict ManagementMust recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact, and initiative according to company policy and procedure. In situations where you are unsure of what to do, always get your manager involved.Analytical SkillsGeneral accounting and mathematical skills required along with point-of-sale application knowledge. Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome to problems.Technical SkillsMust correctly operate various mechanical devices such as POS systems, credit card machines, mixers, and hot beverage makers.Language SkillsMust speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.Quality Control and Priority AssessmentMust evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve current business methods, quality of products and services provided to the Guests.FlexibilityWilling to assist with the workload of others when needed and take on additional responsibilities that may be assigned at any given time based on volume of business, staffing, etc.Time Management SkillsMust know and use methods and organizational techniques to delegate appropriate tasks and manage staff workloads in a manner that promotes efficiency and respects the time of others.
