Computer Engineer

Overview SimVentions is seeking a Computer Engineer to evaluate, analyze, and develop systems—including hardware, software, and interconnecting infrastructure—to support operational tasks. The role involves in‐house full lifecycle design, development, and testing of microelectronics and custom embedded systems with an emphasis on bare‐metal C/C++ coding for microcontrollers. Requirements Active Secret Clearance required; eligibility for Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. citizenship required Experience with embedded hardware product lifecycle (design, test, integration) Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium) Experience writing embedded firmware for microprocessors Proficiency in containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) – desired Responsibilities Translate high‐level requirements into integrated engineering designs Conduct trade‐off analyses (risk/cost/benefit) for technical decisions Design and integrate custom electrical circuits and robust mechanical packaging Develop C/C++ bare‐metal firmware using test‐driven development Manage code using GitLab for configuration management Develop full‐stack applications (SQL, C++ services, React/Next.js) – desired Conduct developmental testing and evaluation of solutions Adhere to program configuration management and documentation standards Preferred Skills and Experience Strong independent work ethic Effective cross‐functional communication (written and verbal) Detail‐oriented, proactive problem‐solving, adaptability to fluctuating workloads Work Environment Primarily office/lab setting with minimal travel. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred). Compensation The projected annual compensation range for this position is $79,000.00–$135,000.00 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is one component of the total compensation package offered by SimVentions.
