A Tool Manufacturing Firm is looking for an Electrical Engineer in Albany, NYThe Electrical Engineer position works within an engineering team to design and develop electrical systems and/or components for high quality, state of the art CNC precision machine tools and related equipment. This position is responsible for the related design analysis, detailed documentation, and coordination with operations personnel to produce the finished products. The Electrical Engineer has the ability to apply their knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems within a manufacturing company and an exciting, growing industry!ResponsibilitiesDesign and document electrical systems in accordance with machine tool standards and customer-specific requirementsConstruct electrical drawings using AutoCAD (Electrical preferred)Define all electrical components and bills of materials within the ERP systemDevelop cost estimates for projects and ensure conformance to project budgetsFind and apply new technologies and suitable solutions to advance equipment performance, improve manufacturability and assembly, and reduce cost and lead timeConduct electrical tests and troubleshoot equipmentParticipate in assembly at new product introductionsParticipate in in-house machine start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and sign-offSupport service and maintenance of installed equipmentInterface with various disciplines including Control Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and ServiceOccasional travel (domestic and international) may be requiredOther duties as required by Engineering ManagementQualificationsMust be a person of integrity and be driven to continuous improvementVery strong attention to detail and accuracy is essentialBachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering required; 3-5 years related experience in an industrial environment preferredExperience in design, repair, and analysis of electrical/electronic systemsMust have the ability to work to meet strict deadlinesRespond to unforeseen issues and challengesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management skillsBenefits: Great Benefits!
