Job SummarymPulse is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer (AWS) to support and optimize our cloud infrastructure. This role will be responsible for managing AWS environments, ensuring system reliability, improving performance, and driving cost efficiency.The ideal candidate will work closely with DevOps, SRE, and Security teams to maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environment. This position plays a key role in infrastructure automation, monitoring, and incident response to support production systems and client-facing services.ResponsibilitiesDeploy, monitor, and support cloud infrastructure in AWS environmentsManage multi-account AWS environments using best practices (e.g., Organizations, IAM)Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK)Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party platformsTroubleshoot and resolve performance issues across compute, network, and storage layersDrive cost optimization initiatives using tools such as AWS Budgets and Cost ExplorerMaintain and improve backup and disaster recovery processesPartner with DevOps and Security teams to enforce cloud governance and compliance standardsServe as a technical point of contact for cloud operations, including routing, SES, and troubleshootingParticipate in on-call rotation and incident response for production systemsQualifications3+ years of experience managing AWS environments in productionStrong experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudFront)Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodePipeline)Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, or similar)Strong understanding of networking, DNS, IAM, and cloud security fundamentalsExperience managing AWS cost and billing optimizationComfortable working in Linux/Unix environmentsPreferredAWS Certification (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or similar)Experience with containerization and orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards (SOC 2, HIPAA)Experience with disaster recovery and high availability designExposure to additional cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)CompetenciesProblem-solving and analytical thinkingOwnership and accountabilityCollaboration across technical teamsStrong communication skillsContinuous improvement mindset
