Head of Build ReliabilityDepartment: ManufacturingEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Redondo BeachReporting To: Paul Seebacher, VP of ManufacturingCompensation: $185,000 - $225,000 / yearDescriptionAs the Head of Build Reliability at Impulse, you will be responsible for establishing our quality standards for all flight hardware. Working with propulsion, vehicle, avionics teams (and more) to ensure timely, and high quality built parts. Develop, maintain and continuously improve Impulse's quality system.ResponsibilitiesEstablish quality methodology for tracking quality issues throughout the manufacturing processBuild, develop & maintain systems to address quality problems that improve reliability and speed productionLead cross functional teams to deliver quality improvement projectsAssist the production and supply chain teams with hardware non-conformance tracking and ensuring all non-conformances are resolved quicklyDevelop manufacturing quality standards and inspection proceduresIdentify, source and set up quality inspection equipment and train operators on best practices and processesBuild out Impulse Quality Plan and documentation that build towards certification against AS9100Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field8+ years in a fast paced manufacturing, quality, build reliability and/or design engineering roleDemonstrated experience building or optimizing a quality management systemA hands on approach to setting up quality systems and solving quality problemsPreferred Skills and Experience10+ years in a quality engineering leadership role working on launch vehicles, spacecraft or satellitesDemonstrated experience working with, or implementing AS9100 standardsDemonstrated technical writing skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate with engineering, production teams and all involved teamsAdditional InformationCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.Impulse Space's spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
