Controller (Audit-Focused)Position Title: ControllerLocation: Fishers, IN (FULLY ON SITE)Schedule: Full-time | Standard business hoursReports To: Director of FinanceAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team in a highly visible, audit-focused role. This Controller position will play a critical part in supporting an ongoing audit and acting as the primary liaison with an external CPA firm. The ideal Controller is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.This Controller role is heavily involved in audit preparation and execution, making it ideal for a professional with a strong background in accounting and audit coordination. The Controller will work closely with leadership and external auditors to ensure accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesAudit Leadership & CPA Firm Coordination (Primary Focus)Serve as the main point of contact between the company and the external CPA firmLead audit preparation efforts, including gathering and organizing required documentationPull financial reports and supporting data from accounting systemsRespond to auditor requests and ensure timely follow-upAssist in establishing processes and workflows for a first-year audit engagementFinancial Reporting & AnalysisPrepare audit schedules and ad hoc financial reportsUtilize Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) to analyze and present dataEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial records during audit reviewOperational Accounting SupportOversee and organize accounting communications, including high-volume email managementAssist with day-to-day accounting priorities as needed during audit cycleCollaborate with internal stakeholders to gather required financial information QualificationsRequired:Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting role with audit exposureStrong background supporting or leading audits with external CPA firmsProficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks Online preferred)Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)Strong organizational and communication skillsPreferred:CPA designation (not required)Experience in first-time audit environments Work Environment & CultureHigh-accountability environment with a strong emphasis on punctuality and performanceCollaborative team with daily communication and leadership interactionCasual dress code Ideal CandidateThe ideal Controller is proactive, communicative, and comfortable operating under tight deadlines.
