Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics!Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor provides ongoing support for Value Stream leadership in the areas of productivity improvement and lead time reduction, takes on a lead Operations role with New Product Development activities and is responsible for ensuring that all customer and internal cost requirements are met or exceeded.Essential FunctionsManage a team of manufacturing engineers Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities Direct, review, and approve product design and changes Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Individual Contribution As a Manufacturing EngineerIdentify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, or other engineers Troubleshoot new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness Train production personnel in new or existing methods Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment Minimum QualificationsExperience: 2+ years in a manufacturing environment; Experience in leading others through project work, kaizen events, etc. Knowledge: Knowledge of continuous improvement tools; Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Skills/Abilities: Strong emphasis on critical thinking, time management, judgment and decision-making; Excellent oral and written communication; Ability to motivate, develop and direct people as they work; Ability to identify the best people for the job Education/Certification: BS degree in Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
