Job Description
Job Title: Masters Level Clinical Intern (non-paid)Position Overview: Inner Courage Counseling values working with passionate therapists who prioritize the needs of their clients in a professional and compassionate manner. Masters-level interns at Inner Courage Counseling will be responsible for maintaining their assigned caseload in addition to the following: meeting all required deadlines for documentation (case notes, treatment plans, diagnosis, etc.), attending scheduled staff meetings (when available) and required training, maintaining appropriate CE’s required for licensure and attending weekly supervision. Please see below for a more detailed list of position requirements.Duties/ResponsibilitiesEstablish positive, trusting rapport with clients and staffDiagnose and treat mental health disordersCreate individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstancesMeet with clients regularly to provide counseling and appropriate treatment Maintain a caseload of an agreed-upon number of clients per week. Arrive to all scheduled sessions and meetings on timeConduct ongoing assessments of client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessaryInvolve and advise the Client’s family members when appropriateRefer clients to outside specialists or agencies when necessaryMaintain thorough records of client meetings and progressFollow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentialityContribute to practice by accomplishing related tasks as neededUpdate treatment plans every 6 monthsIdentify and communicate regarding the termination of clientsConfirm client's information is correct in the systemLearn and competently utilize the EHR systemSchedule all appointments following the client’s initial appointment Communicate with clients as neededNote-taking and appropriate documentation for each client within the required time frameAttend onboarding trainingAttend monthly Staff Meetings (when available)Attend weekly Supervision MeetingsProvide two recorded sessions per month to use as a tool within the supervisory setting as well as for training/educational purposesIntroduction phone calls to new clients prior to their first sessionMake any requests to edit or alter notes in a timely mannerAttend additional training as requested by owners and supervisorsAttend any mandatory trainingCommunicate any needed evaluations or requirements/requests made by your school in a timely mannerQualifications/SkillsMust adhere to the mission and values of Inner Courage CounselingMust maintain confidentiality of clients by adhering to the requirements of HIPAAMust demonstrate effective and consistent time managementMust be organized and detail-orientedMust value collaborative work and be a team playerMust be competent in the basic use of technologyMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsMust promote inclusivity within the workplace while avoiding engaging in any negative actions that would be harmful to our team environmentEducation/LicensureMust be actively pursuing a counseling-related degree in a master's programWhy ICC?: Inner Courage Counseling is a local business that promotes the mental health and wellness of our community as a whole.
