Component Engineer, Rotational Engineering Program
Overview
In this two-year Rotational Engineering Program, you will develop hands-on technical skills and leadership experience while rotating through engineering groups. You will support space and military programs with component expertise, collaborating with electrical engineers to influence design and reliability. The program emphasizes cross-functional exposure, early responsibility, and opportunities to work with senior leaders. You will contribute to ensuring component availability and compliance, shaping future technical leaders within Mercury Systems.

ResponsibilitiesPerform component reviews and assessments against program requirements for space and military programsCollaborate with Electrical Engineers to support design/development with component knowledgeConduct obsolescence analysis to preempt EOL and maintain production continuityReview component drawings and verification data packagesPerform alternative part investigations and create comparison matricesCoordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to define component risk and verificationFacilitate component selection and BOM libraries in collaboration toolsCreate, revise, and submit NSPARs for customer reviews and qualification plansMaintain reports, databases, and PMP meeting materials
Key requirementsBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineeringMinimum GPA 3.1Prior co-op or internship experienceFamiliarity with electrical components and characteristicsKnowledge of electrical circuit designKnowledge of component data sheetsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office SuiteExperience presenting technical information to diverse stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or engineering conceptsSecurity clearance eligibility (U.S. Citizens)Strong communicationCollaborative mindsetAdaptabilityElectrical component knowledgeElectrical circuit designComponent data sheets
