Hours vary. The pharmacist will be primarily responsible for dispensing medications. This position is not tasked with directly compounding medications. All tasks and duties must be completed in accordance and compliance with HIPAA guidelines, State and Federal laws, and current company policies and procedures.Pharmacist Key ResponsibilitiesDispense prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care; this position is not tasked with directly compounding medicationsReview prescriptions issued by physician or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients neededDirect pharmacy technicians engaged in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticalsMaintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugsEnter data such as patient name, prescribed medication and costAssay medications to determine identity, purity and strengthInstruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacyPharmacist Experience And Educations RequirementsRequires a Doctorate Degree of Pharmacy1-2 years of pharmacist experience preferred but not requiredManagement experience preferredMinimum of 1 year sterile and/or non-sterile compounding experience preferredRequires a Kentucky Pharmacist LicenseLicensure in additional states is preferred, but not requiredOther Qualifications To Be ConsideredStrong emotional maturity and intelligenceStrong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detailExpert level of written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capabilityHighly versatile and resourceful team player with the ability to also be extremely effective independentlyProven ability to handle confidential information with discretionBe adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and responseDemonstrate ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentForward looking thinker, actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutionsADA Disclaimer: In developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
