Create an environment conducive to learning, motivating students through effective communication and evaluative feedback. Job Duties / ResponsibilitiesImplements researched-based teaching strategies that engage all students; acknowledginga range of abilities of students and cultural backgrounds.Displays a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.Plans for and guides the learning process toward the mastery of curriculum goals, andestablishes objectives for all lessons, units, and projects that are clearly communicated to students.Implements school improvement plans and strategies.Collaborates with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis, and as requestedby the administration.As appropriate, implements assessments of student progress and communicates progressto students and parents.Sets high expectations for student achievement and behavior, motivates students to work totheir highest potential.Assists in the referral and diagnosis of students with learning difficulties, seeking assistancefrom other school personnel as required.Works cooperatively with building principal and/or director in assessing his/her teaching strengths and weaknesses, planning and implementing a program to improve his/her teaching competencies.Participates on curriculum, personnel, policy or professional development committeesrelated to the educational program.Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.Assists administration in implementing student discipline policies and maintains order inarea(s) assigned and/or supervised in a fair and just manner.Performs other duties as assigned. EducationProfessional Educator License (PEL) with a PK-Age 22 or K-Age 22 LBS1 endorsement.Bachelor's degree in related subject from accredited universityPrevious experience in Special Education (preferred). . Experience / KnowledgeKnowledge of common core standards.Knowledge of instructional and resource programs for students with special educationeligibility. Physical DemandsRequires prolonged sitting or standing.Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching. Terms of EmploymentThis is a temporary position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.U-46 reserves the right to terminate the position by the third day of student attendance if a minimum number of students do not register or enroll.
