Advance your critical care nursing career by supporting a dynamic, high-acuity Med Surg ICU team on a 13-week contract. Our hospital system is seeking experienced ICU RNs committed to clinical excellence and collaborative, patient-focused care.Schedule & Hours:12-hour shifts: 6:30am-6:30pm or 6:30pm-6:30am36 hours per week guaranteedEvery other weekend requiredHoliday coverage: 2 out of 3 major holidays or as scheduled by unit needsQualifications:Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience (required)Active RN licenseCertifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must be current)Valid driver's license; must reside outside 50-mile radius of the facilityNot employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilityAble to remove artificial nails to adhere to infection control policyMust achieve at least 90% on a pass/fail, open-book exam during orientationStrong skills in titrating and managing drips (vasopressors, paralytics, sedation, antiarrhythmics)Confident in reading/interpreting cardiac monitor strips (Draeger system)Core Responsibilities:Care for post-surgical, cardiac, neuro, respiratory failure, sepsis, and trauma patients (age 15+)Manage and troubleshoot a range of RT equipment from nasal cannulas to ventilatorsCollaborate with physicians, fellows, residents, and interdisciplinary staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based careFloat to various inpatient units as needed, excluding Maternity/NICUAdhere to strict documentation, infection control, and safety protocolsEngage positively and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environmentWhat You'll Experience:Fast-paced tertiary care environment with robust support and resourcesCharge nurse on every shift; additional support from nurse aidesScrub color: Navy Blue2-shift, unit-specific orientation to set you up for success
