With hundreds of systems flying in space, our customers turn to AV when a mission can't fail.Position ResponsibilitiesLead the management of a flight computer product line including:Working with customers to understand forecasts and demand for the productLeading proposal development, ensuring stable product pricingAssisting contract management in negotiations related to cost, schedule, and risk posturePartnering with material managers and supply chain to ensure inventory of electronic components is available and suppliers are meeting commitmentsLeading the development of an integrated master scheduleLeading a risk management process for the productManaging all assigned resources including people, facilities, budgets, and schedules to meet performance requirements and commitmentsReporting on product/program status internally and externallyEnsuring project team members' responsibilities, accountability and authority are clearly documented and understood Ensuring assigned individuals are executing the assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per planFacilitating the resolution of program issuesPartnering cross functionally on configuration management and associated deliveries of the productPerforming project management activities in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO-standards)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Competencies)Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field and 8+ years of relevant experience within aerospace or a technical field as a project or program managerThorough knowledge and proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with Industry project management standardsAbility to lead and direct the activities and resources within and across the organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to listen, assimilate, evaluate, and summarize. Sound ability to communicate with the customer at all levelsKnowledge of the Project Lifecycle from requirements definition, proposal preparation and negotiation and project implementation through to completionStrong initiative in defining, proposing, implementing, and communicating schedule metrics that support informed decision-makingAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceOther Qualifications & Desired CompetenciesMaster's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field and 10+ years of relevant experience within aerospace or a technical field as a project or program managerProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationPhysical DemandsAbility to work in an office environmentRequired to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)Clearance LevelNo ClearanceThe Salary Range For This Role Is$101,000 - $154,000AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.ITAR RequirementThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
