Job Title: Automation EngineerLocation :Los Angeles, California, United StatesType: Full TimeOur Client is seeking a hands‑on Automation Engineer to support manufacturing operations by ensuring the reliability and optimization of automated control systems.This role focuses on troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and implementing enhancements across automation platforms while supporting operational efficiency, compliance, and production goals. The position requires flexibility to work a weekend swing shift and operate within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.Work ScheduleSaturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:30 PMPlus two additional weekday shifts (typically 8 hours each)Flexible weekday scheduling based on operational requirementsWhat You’ll Be DoingAutomation & Manufacturing SupportMonitor and maintain automated systems to ensure continuous and efficient production flowTroubleshoot control system and equipment issues that may impact operationsCollaborate with internal and external support teams to resolve complex system challengesProcess Improvement & OptimizationIdentify recurring system issues and implement sustainable solutions to minimize disruptionsLead small‑scale improvement initiatives focused on automation systems and production processesContribute to operational goals related to safety, quality, compliance, and efficiencySystem Configuration & ValidationParticipate in system updates and changes across platforms such as control systems, process automation tools, and building systemsSupport testing, commissioning, and validation activities for system enhancementsAssist in protocol development and execution for system modificationsDocumentation & TrainingDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with system changesEnsure documentation accurately reflects current processes and system configurationsTrain manufacturing teams on system usage and best practices for interacting with automation systemsCompliance & QualityManage and close corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to automation and system performanceEnsure compliance with regulatory and internal standards in a controlled manufacturing environmentWhat You’ll BringRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical fieldExposure to manufacturing environments, automation, or control systemsStrong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skillsAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly across teamsPreferred Skills & ExperienceFamiliarity with automation platforms such as DeltaV, PLC systems (e.g., Siemens or Rockwell), MES, or building automation systemsExperience in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or food productionExperience supporting manufacturing operations in fast‑paced environmentsKnowledge of technical documentation practices and system workflowsWork EnvironmentSignificant time spent in manufacturing and operational areasWork in controlled environments, including cleanrooms and temperature‑regulated spacesUse of protective equipment and adherence to strict safety and compliance requirementsExposure to industrial conditions, including noise, chemicals, and physical movementKey CompetenciesAutomation & Controls EngineeringTroubleshooting & Root Cause AnalysisProcess Improvement & OptimizationCompliance & DocumentationCollaboration & Communication
