Logistic Technician

Job Description Logistics Technician is responsible for efficient handling of corn receipts, ethanol truck deliveries, ethanol railcar deliveries, and dried distiller grain deliveries to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. While supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of Crysalis Bioscience.Key ResponsibilitiesAssessing truck unloading for corn quality issuesInspecting and helping maintain conveyors and corn unloading equipment. Starting and stopping equipment as necessaryOperate skid steer for corn pick up and clean up purposes.Efficiently tape gauge grain bins Loading ethanol trucksWorking with operations and laboratory personnel to ensure quality of ethanol loading to trucksWork and cooperate with truckers, as necessary.Work and sometimes maintain equipment associated with ethanol truck loading ethanol cars.Working with operations and laboratory personnel to ensure quality of ethanol loading to railcarsAcquire DOT certification for loading railcars o Efficiently and safely load ethanol railcars.Efficiently and safely operate track mobile to move ethanol cars Loading DDGS (dried distillers' grains with soluble) to rail cars and trucks.Utilize front end loader to load dry and wet DDGS.Operate track mobile with remote control to load dry DDGS.Operate computer-controlled conveyors and weight augers to load dry DDGS.Efficiently and safely operate track mobile to move DDGS cars.Unloading denaturant trucks and railcarsWork with drivers to assist in unloading denaturant trucks.Efficiently and safely unload denaturant railcars.Clean work areas of dust or other debris as necessary in logistics areas or unitsEfficiently and safely tape gauge ethanol and denaturant tanks.Inspect and drain tank farm as necessary Assist maintenance department in maintenance, as necessary.Assist maintenance department and operations department in sweeping and cleaning of grain bins.Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.Utilizes company safe work practices to ensure all work is performed safely.Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs (LOTO-lock out tag out, Safe Work Permit, FSMA-Food Safety Modernization Act)Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.Performs other duties as assigned to maintain a safe, reliable, and consistent operation.Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies.Prepare, package, and ship outbound orders according to schedules and procedures.Track inventory levels and update inventory management systems.Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and logistics documentation.Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments on deliveries and pickups.Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) as required.Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.Identify and report damage, missing, or incorrect items.Support continuous improvement efforts within logistics and supply chain operations.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.1–3 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory control, or supply chain operations1-3 years' experience in the operation of a Dry-Mill Ethanol Plant preferred.1-3 years' experience with Front End Loader, Track Mobile, Skid Steer (Heavy Equipment) experience in farming preferred.Experience in accounting for and loading/unloading hazardous liquids a plus.Skills and Abilities:Good written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interact professionally and effectively.Strong analytical and mechanical abilities and critical thinking skillsProficiency with basic computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spread sheets is an asset.Physical Requirement and EnvironmentLoading bulk material over the side of semi-trailerMust be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps and work at elevations of 175 feet. and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Must be able to adapt to outside work environments which could include cold, heat, wind, rain, snow, and slippery surfaces.The employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditions.Individuals will be exposed to high noise levels at times.The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the process.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.Company DescriptionBiomanufacturing facility intended for the production of low-carbon fuels and renewable industrial materials.
