MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice. In this role you will be part of a cross-functional team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, software developers and business analysts to support the deployment and scaling of AI tools to achieve mission objectives. At MANTECH, you’ll help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement. This is a fully on-site position in Arlington, VA.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToSchema & Ontology Design: Design hierarchical adversary ontologies that map entities, relationships, events, and temporal data to support complex querying.Automated Ingestion: Build and maintain automated ingestion pipelines for high-priority sources, handling OCR, normalization, deduplication, and metadata enrichment.Secure Data Management: Manage data readiness for analytics, including conducting inventories of internal/external sources and maintaining compliance with secure-zone/air-gapped environments.Retrieval Engineering: Develop hybrid retrieval systems (semantic, keyword, Boolean) with schema-bound filtering to ensure precise data availability for AI models.Minimum QualificationsBA/BS in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, etc.) and 8 or more years of total professional experience in data engineering or related fieldProficiency in ETL/ELT, vector databases, ontology design, and secure data pipelines.Familiarity with the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) data environments.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in a relevant field.Experience with specific tools such as Palantir, Databricks, AWS Bedrock, or geospatial visualization tools (ArcGIS/QGIS).Clearance RequirementsMust possess a current and active TS with SCI eligibilityPhysical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
