DescriptionA LEADER IN QUALITY SERVICES FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES SINCE 1974NHR provides supports to people with developmental disabilities in New York's Hudson Valley and is nationally recognized for its stable direct support workforce, commitment to professional development and supportive culture.New Horizons Resources Inc. is currently seeking for a FT Registered Nurse to provide nursing services to an assigned caseload of residential programs. Must have strong communication skills, compassion and leadership qualities. This position offers a great work life balance. The current scheduled days and hours for this position are Mon-Fr with some flexible of hours as needed. This is a 20 hour per week position (with occasional evening and weekend coverage needed). Rotation on call approx. once every 6-8 weeks.The Registered Nurse is part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals in creating an atmosphere that provides for continuity of quality care and quality of life for the individuals served and for the coordination of all general and specialized medical services required for the individuals. These services shall include but not be limited to hospitals, medical and dental services, clinics, and primary care physicians.NHR will grant total reimbursement through the RN-LPN Program (regardless of what nursing degree was pursued) up to a maximum of $28,000 for full time employees and $14,000 for part time employees. Eligibility to apply for approved tuition costs will begin after an eligible employee's completion of the nursing degree and registration confirmation of scheduled State Board Exam (provided the employee has not already passed the Board Exam) and transition to a full or part-time position at NHR that requires the employee to be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Where an employee has previously completed an Associate's degree in Nursing and passed the Board Exam, and is seeking reimbursements for costs for attaining a Bachelor degree in Nursing, eligibility for reimbursement will begin at the start of the fiscal quarter immediately following attainment of the Bachelor degree.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications for this position:Associate's Degree in Nursing (BA preferred). Experience in a Residential program helpful. Must possess a NYS RN license and new graduates are considered as well. Ability to relate appropriately to individuals with ID/DD, their families and their advocates. Driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier ability to obtain certification during probationary period and the ability to build positive relationships with others.Schedule:Monday thru FridayRotating On call schedule (approx. 1 week every 6-8 weeks-stipend paid)Occasionally (evening/weekend site visits required)
