Bagger Position Baggers provide a high level of customer service by packaging the customers' purchases. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Place items purchased by customers into bags; assist with loading into shopping cart Escort customer to his/her vehicle with cart of groceries when requested or needed Retrieve shopping carts from parking lot; line up carts appropriately Return discarded or misplaced items back to shelf or display where they belong Politely greet customers with a smile and provide excellent customer service Assist cashiers with price checks Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards Assist with keeping the store clean, organized, and free from safety hazards; immediately call for clean-up when necessary Attend and/or participate in store or department meetings Performs other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position Punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies Secondary duties and responsibilities include: Work as a grocery stock clerk Assist with facing needs by straightening out displays and shelves of merchandise Attend to customers' needs when looking for store merchandise; calling for manager or supervisor when necessary Assist store manager on duty in other departments when needed Qualifications include: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; minimum of 18 years of age Ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferred Ability to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferred Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general public Good interpersonal skills Takes responsibility for own actions Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form Basic math, numeral recognition Ability to work hours and days scheduled, including holidays and weekends Physical demands include: Stand and walk Use fingers and hands Reach with hands and arms Talk and hear Close vision and peripheral vision Carry, lift and/or move departmental products and merchandise Push and pull carts of departmental products and merchandise Repetitive motion with arms and shoulders Stoop or bend at the waist Twist back and neck Use sense of smell Climb step stool Balance Crouch or bend at the knees
