This is a Part Time position and benefit eligiblePOSITION: Personal Care Teacher Assistant (PCTA)JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in achieving educational objectives byworking with individual students or small groups to help themachieve the standards of instruction.QUALIFICATIONS:1. One year of college required; two years of college preferred.2. Physical condition so as to be able to managebehavior/physically challenged students; must have the abilityto lift 50 pounds.3. Basic understanding of child growth and development.4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principalmay find appropriate or acceptable.REPORTS TO: PrincipalPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Demonstrate ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality ofstudent information.2. Current restraint program certification.3. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforcelearning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.4. Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial workset up and assigned by the teacher.5. Implement student behavior plans.6. Awareness of identified student health concerns, monitor/assistas appropriate in collaboration with teacher and nurse.7. Toileting/personal care/hygiene, when necessary.8. Awareness of student-assistance protocol.9. Assist with collecting, maintaining, and organizing data andportfolios, and/or work samples of student(s).10. Assist student(s) with organization of desk, homework, classwork and materials.11. When applicable, consult daily with teachers and other serviceproviders.12. Facilitate student(s) social interaction.13.
