JOB SUMMARY:The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for manufacturing products using safe and efficient manufacturing processes through the supervision of production team members. Must adhere to the Build Schedule and ensure that quality standards are met. Plans work, delegates, makes assignments, and trains new employees. Assists in the hiring process and administers company policies. Understands the Company Vision, Strategic Objectives, KPI's (Key Process Indicators) and Principles. Deploy by demonstration (lead by example) through annual master continuous improvement plan, objectives, and scorecard. Promotes the use of Plan Do Check Act to ensure small incremental improvement in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Best People, Production Maintenance, Workplace Organization and Visual Management.REQUIREMENTS - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Confirm Safety requirements are understood and acted upon.• Take immediate and responsible action when an accident occurs (followed with Safety 8D).• Promote Safety awareness by leading focus activities within the teams.• Promote accident reduction by setting expectations for Safety Improvement Opportunities and Accident prevention training.• Lead 5S activities to achieve workplace organization standard, audit for compliance.• Ensure PDCA rigorously used to resolve issues.• Promote standardized work.• Regularly review capacity implementing labor plans. Request labor increases/decreases where appropriate.• Ensure OLE – Overall Labor Effectiveness, SINEW & Downtime data collection is accurate.• Coach the team leaders & team members.• Enforce the Bergstrom Attendance Policy.• Ensure all schedules are completed – correct as required.• Ensure daily 5s check sheet activities are completed and recorded.• Encourage and develop continuous improvement ideas with team.PREFERRED – EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP system.• Extensive knowledge of MPS/MRP.• Thorough understanding of Production, Materials and Supply Chain concepts.• Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel Skills.• Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve, communicate (orally and in writing), lead business discussions and train.• Team player within multi-disciplined team.• Program management skills.• Support NPI (New Product Introduction) process.• Good Communication skills.• Previous direct supervisory duties.• Ability to motivate people and hold them accountable for reaching goals and objectives.REQUIRED – EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• BA/BS in business, supply chain or other related disciplines or five years' experience in Operations or related areas. A combination of education and experience will also be considered for this position.• Lean manufacturing experience.The budgeted range for this role is $60,000 USD to $75,000.00 USD per year. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the desired level of experience for the position.
