Engineering Supervisor, Facilities Management and Maintenance - ( 260000BX ) Description The Engineering Supervisor, Facilities train and supervise staff in applyingconstruction, maintenance, and engineering principles to facility design,construction, and maintenance projects. Develop and review specifications,assign and monitor project tasks, assist with budget preparation, and ensureeffective application of construction techniques and standards. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: Train and supervise employees in applying engineering,construction, and maintenance principles to project design and execution.Review design drawings for compliance with division standards, codes, and bestpractices; provide training in software applications such as spreadsheets andcomputer-aided drafting. Assist with budgeting, prepare and reviewspecifications, and develop or update standard specifications for future use.Oversee project planning, prioritization, progress tracking, and cost estimation.Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders todefine project scope, constraints, and requirements. Ensure operating,maintenance, and safety procedures are established and communicated. Providecivil/structural design consultation, develop repair solutions, and applyengineering seals as required. Plan and coordinate mandated facility upgradesfor safety and environmental compliance while staying current on engineeringdevelopments, codes, and regulations. Perform other duties as directed. Qualifications LICENSES ANDCERTIFICATIONSA valid drivers license from state of residence is required.Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Facility2Management, Project Management or related degree is required.EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering including four (4)years of professional related experience in facilities design/construction ORBachelor's degree in business, Facility Management, Project Management inFacilities/Construction including four (4) year of experience is required. Two (2)years of leadership experience required.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONMust successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center training within 90days of hire. Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one (1) year ofentering job. Works in the office and outside under fairly good conditions.Subject to occasional construction hazards, climbing, balancing, bending,stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, lifting, walking, standing for long periodsof time while making field inspections. Must have an occupationally significantcombination of ability to apply engineering principles/techniques todepartmental methods/materials. Must have analytical ability to solve complexproblems. Ability to convey ideas effectively orally and in writing.
