Facilities/Maintenance TechnicianPosition Overview: As a Facilities/Maintenance Technician at NOGJ in Jonesborough, you will perform a variety of duties within the Maintenance department and will provide support throughout the facility and within all areas of production. This position reports directly to the Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor. This position requires the ability to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), the ability to work overtime, weekends and shifts of 10 to 12 hours per day. Working under general supervision and following established policies, you will perform assignments requiring general use and application of concepts, practices and techniques within various areas of the facility.Location: Jonesborough, TennesseeYour Day to Day as Facilities/Maintenance Technician:Troubleshoot, perform maintenance, install and repair fluid systems and chemical processing equipment including but valves, pumps, process control systems, heaters, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipmentApply system lock out devices and conduct maintenance on hazardous chemical systemsGeneral building and grounds maintenance; installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems and equipmentCarpentryReport issue and out of control conditions to supervision/managementEvaluate, prioritize and complete requests for repairPerform basic to moderately complex data collectionReport and provide feedback to supervisionConduct inspections and make recommendations to supervisionPerform routine preventive maintenance on process systems equipment and componentsPerform modifications to equipmentAssist with preventative maintenanceMaintain records as requiredMaintain clean work areaAssist in other areas of the facility as requiredRequired Qualifications:Associates Degree or completion of two (2) years at a technical school or equivalent experience. Courses of study must be in maintenance/facilities related field.Must have at least six (6) years facilities/maintenance work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting; repair/maintenance of various machinery including but not limited to valves, pumps, process control systems, hydraulic and mechanical components, heaters, PLC's, and power distribution systemsAdvanced knowledge of maintenance trades and associated tools and equipment including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, machinery and equipment repairs a plusAnalytical ability to perform moderately complex equipment evaluationsIntermediate knowledge of math involving algebra and geometryAbility to schedule and prioritize workflowEffective computer skills and literacyAbility to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and external contactsPossess a valid driver's license with a clean driving recordAble to work effectively in a team environment.Able to work any shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd)May be required to wear a respirator in the performance of normal duties and will be required to maintain clean shaven protocol for respirator fit testingMust be able to work 10 plus hours per shift. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
