Job Description Job Title: Packaging TechnicianJob Description The Packaging Technician supports the safe, accurate, and efficient assembly, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products in a cleanroom and temperature-controlled environment. This role applies current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements while performing both manual and automated tasks. The position operates on a first shift schedule from 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM and requires strong attention to detail, comfort with repetitive work, and the ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments as needed.Responsibilities Apply current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements in all assigned activities.Comply with all safety regulations and perform all tasks in a safe, efficient manner.Perform manual and automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products while strictly adhering to specifications and quality standards.Act as the primary performer of in-process inspections and Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections to ensure product quality.Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies and drug products based on established criteria.Complete computer-related tasks such as signing in to jobs, recording in-process actions, and performing accurate data entry.Participate in the start-up and closure of packaging jobs, ensuring all materials, documentation, and equipment are properly handled.Clean packaging rooms and machinery in accordance with SOPs and cGMP requirements.Perform accurate counts of components and drug product to support inventory control and batch accountability.Interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure proper assembly of clinical supplies.Follow detailed written instructions, including SOPs, work instructions, and other cGMP documents, to execute tasks correctly and consistently.Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within required timelines.Take initiative in daily work, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing priorities or circumstances.Accept and learn from feedback, including feedback related to Corrective or Preventative Actions, to continuously improve performance.Support a cleanroom environment by following gowning procedures and using required personal protective equipment (PPE).Essential Skills Experience performing assembly, filling, packaging, and labeling tasks in a regulated or manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or the ability to learn and apply them quickly.Ability to perform quality inspections, including in-process and AQL inspections, with strong attention to detail.Proficiency with basic computer use for job sign-in, in-process actions, and accurate data entry.Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks with both hands.Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently while maintaining focus.Working mathematical skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.Ability to interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure correct assembly and packaging.Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing continuously, frequently bending and squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in primary, secondary, refrigerated (2 to 8°ree;C), and freezer (down to -20°ree;C) environments, including spending a significant portion of the day in a freezer if needed.Ability to read, comprehend, and execute English work documents, including SOPs, work instructions, knowledge assessments, cGMP, and safety procedures.Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.Ability to take initiative, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing circumstances.Willingness and ability to accept and learn from feedback, particularly related to Corrective or Preventative Actions.Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.Familiarity with cleanroom gowning procedures and working in controlled environments.Comfort using personal protective equipment such as filtering face masks, powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR), N-95 masks, half-face masks, and safety glasses.Experience working in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periods.Strong reliability and punctuality to support first shift operations (6:45 AM to 2:45 PM).Ability to maintain accuracy and quality while working at a steady production pace.Why Work Here?You will join a team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment. Work is performed in primary and secondary packaging areas, as well as in refrigerated (2 to 8°ree;C) and freezer environments (down to approximately -20°ree;C), and up to 80% of the day may be spent in a freezer when needed. The position requires continuous standing, frequent bending and squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. The environment is highly regulated, with strict adherence to cGMP, SOPs, and safety procedures. Team members wear cleanroom gowns and follow gowning protocols, and they use personal protective equipment such as filtering face masks, PAPR, N-95 masks, half-face masks, and safety glasses. Additional hourly pay differentials apply when working with PAPR or in refrigerated areas and freezers. The work involves repetitive tasks at a steady pace, close attention to detail, and regular use of computers and production equipment in a controlled, safety-focused setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA.Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $19.84/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
