This is what sets us (and you, if you join us) apart from the crowd.Shift hours - 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.Salary: $19/hr-$23/hr + $1.00 Shift Diff once on 2nd shiftResponsibilitiesPerform metallurgical evaluations on metallic materialsSection, mount and polishes, using automated equipment or by hand, in preparation for metallurgical evaluationSetup equipment and perform testing for metallurgical corrosion evaluationsProvides support to Metallurgists and Failure Analysis EngineersWorks with other staff to meet the delivery obligations of the metallographic laboratoryEnsure safety of self, coworkers, and visitors by following written and verbal safety proceduresApply and record data using sensitive instrumentationParticipates in company 5S and Safety initiativesSkills / QualificationsMinimum high school graduate, metallographic/metallurgy coursework preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer skillsStrong applied math skills (arithmetic, algebra)Ability to read and understand ASTM, ISO, AMS, etc., and specific customer standards and proceduresCompany OverviewElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
