Assistant Manager, Restaurant
Position Summary The incumbent in this position supports the Manager – Food & Beverage by overseeing daily operations, leading staff, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing inventory and costs, and maintaining compliance – all while helping to drive service quality and revenue.
Essential Functions Create an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford as their gaming entertainment; actively build and retain guest relations and serve as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
Work the area at scheduled times, ensuring outlets are fully prepared for operation, as well as ensuring cleanliness and security of company assets.
Maintain administrative functions such as scheduling, time and attendance records, and appraisals to ensure appropriate staffing levels and that team members perform duties according to established service standards.
Assist in monitoring the department budget to ensure efficient use of labor and other resources to achieve effective operation of the department.
Monitor guest service and satisfaction by interviewing guests and by observing food and beverage ratings to make recommendations for improvement to maintain high service standards and a positive dining experience for guests.
Resolve guest concerns or complaints to maintain positive guest relations.
Inspect food outlets daily to ensure a safe work environment, that equipment is operating properly, and that sufficient supplies are on hand to achieve smooth operation of the department.
Assist with hiring and onboarding.
Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
Step in as acting manager when needed.
Perform work regularly and predictably.
Attend seminars when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of food & beverage or hospitality experience, with a minimum of two years' food and beverage supervisory experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Additional Requirements Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Board regulations.
Must successfully pass background check.
Must be at least twenty-one (21)years of age.
Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
Knowledge of Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Management of a high-volume restaurant, bar, or similar business.
Standard safety and sanitation practices for food and beverage service.
Applicable computer systems.
Various positions within the restaurant (host/hostess, dining room attendant, waitperson, etc.).
Food and drink, food and drink products, food and drink preparation.
Service, service etiquette, and standard service practices.
Wines and alcoholic beverages.
Abilities Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and an outgoing personality while being able to project a professional appearance.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
Deliver programs which create a service level of excellence for internal and external guests.

Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
Act professionally with a constantly changing internal and external environment.
Monitor and control cash flow and security of assets.
Link scheduling to customer flow.
Observe and direct actions of subordinates, monitor all activity within the restaurant and casino floor, inspect and maintain areas for which you are responsible.

Additional Information Pay Range: $50,000–$67,500. Employment is at-will; no express or implied contract of employment unless in writing and signed by the Department Head. Conditions may require the Company to modify this Job Description at its discretion.
